A Friendly Tea Shop in the Heart of Ottawa Byward Market
Rooted in care, and a genuine love of tea, teastore began in 1996 as a small specialty tea shop in downtown Ottawa, in the historic ByWard Market.
What started as a place to buy quality tea, gradually became something more. A friendly community space, a place to learn about tea, explore new flavors, and feel at ease.
Surrounded by the everyday rhythm of the neighborhood, teastore became a part of daily life in the Byward Market. Customers drop by as they wander through the market, visitors discover the shop while exploring, and new blends quietly find their place in routine moments.
Our Approach to Tea
Tea, for us, is about slowing down. Taking a moment. Finding something that feels right for you.
That sense of care and familiarity guides everything we do. We focus on quality, variety, and approachability, choosing teas thoughtfully and keeping the experience simple.
We carry loose-leaf teas sourced from around the world. Familiar classics blends meant for everyday moments like bold black teas, delicate green teas, smooth oolong teas, refreshing white teas and herbal infusions.

Along one wall, shelves are lined with loose-leaf teas from around the world, offering space to explore at your own pace. We also offer a delicious selection of in house, freshly baked goods to serve with our extensive collection of loose-leaf teas.
